Thriving from Work: Film Production Crews
July 2, 2022 – June 30, 2023
The long-term goal of this project is to develop policy and practice recommendations and deliver evidence-based interventions that improve film workers' health and well-being. The first phase of this project is to conduct formative research to help us better understand how work and working conditions, along with policies and practices, affect film workers’ safety, health, and well-being. To accomplish this, this pilot study will stimulate research collaborations across New England with film-related unions and conduct a series of key informant interviews and focus groups with film workers from diverse backgrounds. The findings of this pilot study will be used to inform a future body of research on film workers’ safety, health, and well-being.
Funding for this research is provided by the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health Education and Research Center.
