Welcome to the Harvard School of Public Health Center for Work, Health, and Well-being

Chronic diseases are the primary cause of death in the United States, with heart disease, cancer, and stroke as the leading illnesses. Worksite health promotion provides an effective way to enhance health promoting behaviors, reach a large segment of the population, and reduce chronic disease risk factors. Worksite health protection initiatives also contribute to the prevention of chronic diseases through efforts to improve occupational safety and health, address organizational factors at work that influence worker health, and support work-life balance.

The HSPH Center is studying ways to improve the health of people at work. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has funded the HSPH Center for Work, Health, and Well-being as part of its broader Total Worker Health ™ initiative.

We invite you to learn more about the mission, work, and partners of the HSPH Center for Work, Health, and Well-being.
