Harvard ERC and Center Seminar: Routine Uncertainty in the Service Sector

On December 5 at 1:10 pm eastern time, the Center for Work, Health, & Well-being will co-sponsor a seminar with the Harvard Education and Research Center (ERC). Dr. Daniel Schneider, PhD, Malcolm Wiener Professor of Social Policy and Professor of Sociology, Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University will be our speaker. Dr. Schneider is on our Center’s External Advisory Board, as well as being an Investigator on one of the projects at the California Labor Laboratory, another Total Worker Health Center. The title of Dr. Schneider’s presentation is “Routine Uncertainty in the Service Sector”. He will be discussing work scheduling practices in the service sector, the effects of exposure to precarious scheduling on worker health and well-being, the effectiveness of labor standards in reducing work schedule instability, and research on automation and technology in the service sector. This hybrid event is open to the public via zoom.
