Power of Policy for Healthcare Worker Well-being: What Does the Research Tell Us?

Thursday September 26, 2024
1:00-2:00pm ET Online

This webinar is part of The Center for the Promotion of Health in the New England Workplace’s (CPH-NEW) ongoing Total Worker Health Trends: Expert Webinar Series and will be held from 1:00 to 2:00pm ET on Thursday, September 26, 2024, via Zoom. CPH-NEW will be collaboratively hosting this installment of the TWH Trends series with the NIOSH Total Worker Health Center of Excellence, the Harvard Center for Work, Health, and Wellbeing.

Healthcare workers are essential to society but face heightened vulnerability to work-related injuries and illnesses. They are over-stressed, overworked, and too often leave their jobs due to unsafe and unhealthy working conditions. This webinar focuses on what research tells us about effective policies for improving the day-to-day working conditions for these essential workers, featuring presentations on two recent studies examining how laws, regulations, and organizational policy impact healthcare workers’ safety, health, and well-being. The speakers will discuss research findings related to the impact of these policies on healthcare workers’ mental and physical health, burnout, workability and intentions to leave their job. They will also identify the implications of their findings for future workplace interventions and public policy.
